Facilities
The main part of the school was opened in 1972 with additions in 1976, 1989 and 1994. The school is divided up into a number of wings each containing toilet and cloakroom facilities, group activity rooms and areas. The school has recently completed a refurbishment project for all the pupil toilet areas in the school and the community wing toilets.
Linked to the main school hall is a community area, which consists of a hall, coffee bar and toilets. This area is used by the school and community groups during the day and in the evening; the community hall also serving as the dining area. The school kitchen has direct access into this hall.
We have an ICT room with 30 desktop machines, two libraries and a small music teaching room for instrumental tuition. There is also a community kitchen area for food technology work.
Outside, the school has spacious grounds with adventure play areas in Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and a 'trim trail' in Key Stage 2. We have developed our own school vegetable garden as part of our Healthy School project and we have a community orchard which was planted in 2010. We have also built a covered outside classroom, with the aid of a Lottery Grant, which is used daily.
Within the Foundation Stage area there is a designated outdoor space for outdoor play and activities and inside there are various different areas for the many different activities that take place in class.
